Exercise With Hypertension

High blood pressure (hypertension) is a common condition in which the long-term force of the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease.

⊗ Avoid lying down exercises

⊗ Avoid isometric exercises

⊗ Avoid overhead exercise

⊗ Avoid very strenuous resistance training

⊗ Avoid high intensity with left ventricular hypertrophy

 

⇒ Medication for BP >180/110

⇒ 15 min warm-up, 10 min cooldown

⇒ Keep the feet moving

⇒ Take care to avoid joint injuries in obese patients

⇒ Weekly rest day
